Onder de kerstboom lag een boek voor mij waar Barto. al eerder op zijn "weblog " over had geschreven, alles wat daar staat is ook zo;-))

Chinese Fast food
This photo, (I could not read the caption) shows
a Chinese chef wearing his western-style chef
uniform with great pride in spite of the gruesome
circumstances in which he finds himself. The barbed
wire context provides an ambiguity opposing the
man's pride in his work. It's ambiguity which makes
photographs interesting. Then there is the obvious
pun on the title, cooking in wartime has to be done
'fast.'
Your work is like Diane Arbus' work, with hope
and compassion.
