Bij aankoop van mijn boek Beautiful People, nu een gratis gesigneerde foto uit mijn Parijs serie, het boek kost "in incl verzendkosten" 39,30! Een "sieraad" voor uw boeken kast, gisteren nog kreeg ik uit Duitsland deze reactie op mijn boek:

I love it! In my eyes you are one of few photographers, they really
know, how to make pictures from people. I think it was not simple for
you to find a title for the book. "Beautiful People" says all what must
be said. "Everybody is a star" be a good title for your next book, I
think :-) I really love the way you photograph peoples. The kind of
people is sometimes just like the old neighbours, or some one else, I
see when I walk on the streets. The different is, that I don't see them
really. Your book make it possible to look in their faces, more than a
little while and I think, hey, everyone is beautiful, you must only view
them with the "right eye". With your book, you borrowed me your eyes.

deze vond ik in je boek ook al zo leuk willem. de duivenmelker! de pose vind ik zeer knap en levert een boeiende compositie op. de diagonale arm... gevraagd? of spontaan. je boek lijkt wel een onuitputtelijke bron van boeiende portretten

Top, kan niets anders bedenken.
Jij verstaat de kunst de mensen te ontwapenen, in eigen waarde te laten en
open te maken. En dit gekoppeld aan een perfecte presentatie en afwerking .
. chapeau ! (mijn frans is niet zo best misschien). En niet een zo'n foto,
maar bosjes! Dit is geen lucky shot, maar de hand van de meester!.

Ontwapenend portret Willem, ken ik natuurlijk wel uit je boek, dat ik nog regelmatig en met veel plezier ter hand neem!

Heerlijk zo'n rechtuit portret. Ik kan Anfreas tekst helemaal onderschrijven! Onderstaande site van Stef Rohner bevat foto's die dezelfde sfeer uitademen als jou werk. En niet alleen door het fotoformaat....

I agree that is looks great in B&W and has a wonderfully dark background. It probably could add to the left and right just so that the frame isn't square, but that is a personal preference on my part. I do like that it tends to follow the rule of thirds in that the torso of the man is more leftward in the frame. Are pigeons normally that timid?
