Weer eens een portret

Dit portret heb ik geschoten tijdens een vakantie in Italië, ik weet niet eens meer waar het was, hoe de man heet, ik weet alleen dat ik koffie zat te drinken op een klein terras in een klein dorp. De man zijn uitstraling als persoon sprak mij aan, ik dacht gelijk aan die oude Italiaanse zwart/wit films van vroeger, vaak speelde het verhaal zich af op het platte land in kleine dorpsgemeenschappen, zo’n figuur kan je daar zo in mee laten spelen. Met mijn macaroni Italiaans kon ik hem toch zo ver krijgen dat de beste man voor mij wilde poseren. Dit porteret is nog geschoten met de oude Mamiya C330+ 55mm Een baksteen om mee te slepen, maar degelijk en klasse spul,met een aantal klasse lenzen om te zoenen;-))

I have just read your profile Willem, that's quite a tribute you got from Kees Tillema!

They say that a picture says a 1000 words, and maybe this image is one of those. Without knowing who this guy is, I bet most of us can assume something about his work, his life, his background and maybe his hobbies.. A simple portrait, but it speaks volumes. I like this one very much.

I 100% agree with Chris: A simple portrait, but it speaks volumes, excellent job Willem, I really love this wonderful portrait photo.

This is a very good portrait. Love the relaxed expression and demeanor of this gentleman. The tones and lighting are excellent. Perfect background, as well. Great work.

I really like how you do the portraits in B&W. I've noticed that you tend do square portraits. As I said in your earlier post, I tend to prefer rectangular. That being said, the square is less obvious in this one there is ample background on either side. As for the subject, I think you've captured something great here. The guy seems so natural and image doesn't seem contrived at all. I do like it a good deal.

ik denk dat je in de 'mood' van de geportretteerde ook de 'mens' in de fotograaf ziet. zoals hij daar staat met z'n goedmoedige 'Toots Tielemans' lach moet hij wel door een rustige vriendelijke man benaderd zijn. ik vind deze prachtig Willem. de ontspannen warme menselijkheid tegenover de neutrale bepleisterde achtergrond... dat heb je weer goed gezien.

Broekje mooi in de plooi - hemdsmouwen nonchalant, maar toch zorgvuldig opgerold en een schroom, maar toch bewustzijn van de camera... erg naturel
